Thanks to everyone who submitted photos and essays for our Summer and Fall issues! Stowaway is now taking submissions until October 19th!

Enter your best travel photos or written story to our contest and you could be published in our Winter 2013 or Spring 2013 issues. 

 

 

 

 

Photo submissions must be:

  • original works
  • a .jpg or .png file
  • 300 dpi
  • include a description
  • limit is 3 submissions per person

Personal stories should be limited to 300-500 word count.

    I don’t have a website but would love to enter a photo into the competition! Is that allowed? And if so how would I go about submitting my picture?

    Hi, I entered last years competition, but I never heard anything about it. Obviously I didn’t win, but I would love to see the photos that did! How can I view last years winners? It was the festivals and colorful theme, I believe.

      Thank you for your interest and support of last year’s contest, Heather. The issue you are referring to is either Summer or Spring 2011, both of which can be found under the “past issues” tab. If you want, submit your work again! The current staff is working on both the Winter and Spring 2012 issues, and would love to see your work!

    so im a big photography person and have been editing my own pictures for a few years now. the ones i want to enter have my name “camouflaged” in the picture. do i need to take my name out?

      You will be given credit for the photo in a blurb next to your photo when it is published. It would be our preference if you removed the name within the photo, just for continuity among all the photos. It needs to be removed especially if it is splashed across the whole photo. If you can’t remove it, submit it anyway.
