When most people think of Brazil, they think of Rio de Janeiro or the Amazon rainforest. But on the easternmost point of Brazil there is an overlooked city—Natal. Brazilians flock to Natal as a beachside vacation spot, so join the locals and have a truly Brazilian vacation!
Cajueiro de Piranji (The Largest Cashew Tree in the World)
You probably didn’t know that cashews, those nuts that occasionally show up in your trail mix actually come from a fruit. Cashew fruit grows on trees, the largest of which covers about 80,000 square feet and is located in Natal. This tree is so large that it earned itself a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. If you go during cashew season, between November and January, you can pick the cashews! Make sure to try a refreshing glass of cashew juice to cool off!
Genipabu
Natal is best known for its pristine beaches. While there are many to choose from, Genipabu is at the top of the list. It is beautiful and relaxing, but it also boasts an assortment of activities. You can ride a camel across the sand, or enjoy the thrill of a buggy ride up and down the dunes.
These are just a couple of the amazing places you can visit in Natal. Pack a swimsuit and some sunscreen, and get ready for a Brazilian adventure!
